Former Brazil international nogometni dresovi Rivaldo has confirmed his departure from Brasileirão Série B side São Caetano.

The 41 year-old made the announcement on Twitter.

“Hello, I wanted to inform you that as of today I do not wear the jersey of São Caetano. I thank the club and especially its president Nairo [Ferreira de Souza],” he tweeted.

Rivaldo, who is the chairman of Campeonato Brasileiro Série C outfit Mogi Mirim, joined São Caetano in January.

But with the club struggling and problems with his knee, Rivaldo has decided to leave. Whether he will retire remains unclear.

The Paulista-native has played for 14 different modrić dres clubs across a 22 year career. He has won titles in Brazil, Spain, Italy, Greece and Uzbekistan.

At international level, Rivaldo earned 74 caps for Brazil, scoring 34 goals. With the Seleção he won the World Cup in 2002, the 1999 Copa América and 1997 Confederations Cup. He was also awarded the Ballon d’Or in 1999.
